As the Web Developer and IT Manager at Integral Hockey Stick Sales & Repair located in Port Alberni, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining a network of over 100 websites across North America and Europe — including the UK, Sweden, Finland, and Switzerland. In addition to web development and maintenance, you will provide IT support to our operators across these regions.

This role requires ensuring all websites run efficiently and securely, performing regular updates, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining our web hosting infrastructure. Given the diverse backgrounds of our locations — many of whom may not be technically experienced — it's essential that you approach each support situation with patience, clarity, and professionalism.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Manage, maintain, and regularly update 100+ WordPress-based websites in our global network
• Provide responsive IT support to our locations, resolving a wide range of technical issues
• Troubleshoot website errors, server-related issues, and plugin conflicts
• Adapt and implement new technologies and digital tools to improve website performance and user experience
• Monitor and analyze website performance data (traffic, speed, user behavior) and provide actionable insights
• Assist our locations in managing their online stores, including product updates and basic troubleshooting
• Maintain server performance, security, backups, and anti-spam systems
• Collaborate with the head office team to ensure branding and user experience remain consistent across all platforms

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an IT support or system administration role
• Minimum 1 year of experience designing or managing websites
• Proficient in working with WordPress
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Familiarity with PHP (an asset)
• Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Canva) is a plus
• Understanding of website security and anti-spam tools
• Experience with e-commerce platforms or online shops is considered an asset
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
