Details 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Advocate will provide research, information, advocacy and referral services to low income persons and marginalized people in Port Alberni.

 

Work Area: CMHA Administration at 3178 2nd Ave.

Qualifications 
  • Minimum diploma in related field
  • Two years recent, related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current knowledge of community and referral resources
  • Research skills
  • Working knowledge of poverty law and poverty issues
  • Will support clients with PWD applications, bureaucratic conflicts, landlord/tenant issues, dispute resolution processes, appeals, Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation applications
  • Reliable vehicle, business insurance and a Class 5 driver's license
