Position:  Fulltime Project Scheduler

Location:  Port Alberni & Anacla Government Offices

Authority Relationship: Senior Project Manager/Economic Development Officer

Salary Range:  $36,400 - $49,400

Position Summary:  The Project Scheduler will work with the Project Coordinator to produce project schedules, assists with project estimates and will review the scope of work.   You will also support the Huu-ay-aht Strategic Plan in day to day consultation with the Senior Project Manager/Economic Development Officer.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Working alongside the Project Coordinator and assisting the Senior Project Manager in designing, maintaining, monitoring, and the communication of project schedules.
  • Overseeing all project scheduling activities and provide required status updates, forecasts and reports as necessary.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and neutrality at all times.
  • Promoting a performance-focused environment in alignment with the HFN’s values, culture and business goals.

Job Duties:

  • Managing assigned and approved project schedules as directed by the Senior Project Manager.
  • Managing and administer time tracking systems.
  • Developing of the baseline schedule using well-defined and properly sequenced work activities.
  • Understanding the flow and logistics needed for the execution of the HFN project(s).
  • Coordinating the presentation of project schedule information.
  • Organizing and scheduling meetings with project teams.
  • Assisting Project Coordinator in managing multiple projects and project teams simultaneously.
  • Working with the Senior Project Manager and project stakeholders to develop project charts related to project implementation, including proposed economic development projects.
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhancing the department and organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Performing other duties as required by the project management team.

Operational Requirements:

  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • Ability to work outdoors and inclement weather (project site visitation/supervision)
  • Some travel, including overnight and or weekends. Possible US domestic travel.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, including evenings and weekends.
  • Successful background checks, including employment verification, reference checks, credit inquires and education/credential verification.
Qualifications 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Demonstrate ability and experience upholding the HFN Organizational Values Professionalism, Respect, Health, Effective Communication, Trust, and Support.
  • Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Project Management (PMP or Prince2), Construction Management, Technical management, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, and chart development.
  • 2+ years of experience using Primavera P6 or related project management software.
  • Extremely organized and detailed.
  • Knowledge of building development and redevelopment industry.
  • Demonstrate experience developing project schedules and performing critical path and risk analysis.
  • Demonstrate understanding of construction documents and ability to develop project schedules.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and people management skills.
  • Adapts to changing environments, shifting priorities and uncertainty.
